Description
{1} Works to rebuild a 9m stretch of the north cemetery wall entailed ground reduction by up to 3m. Archaeological excavation revealed three Victorian burials cut through 4 to 5 feet of imported soil into a mid-19th horizon. The underlying burial soil contained pottery dating from the 13th century to the post-medieval period, as well as possible tannery waste.
