Description

A geophysical survey was conducted over the East Courtyard and selected areas within the fabric of Apethorpe Hall. Earth resistance survey was conducted over the open areas of lawn within the East Courtyard, complemented by a Ground Penetrating Radar Survey. Both techniques revealed anomalies associated with the former structure of the hall, including the putative remains of the original East Range. GPR survey of selected areas within the standing building proved less successful, although a possible continuation of an original wall footing was revealed in the cellar beneath the North Range.
