Description
{1} Survey areas show in in subsequent trial trenching report - no other details known {2} Scanning located two areas of potential industrial activity and several isolated anomalies. This was achieved as the background levels of magnetic response were low, as predicted from the previous geophysical work. Detailed magnetic survey supported the scanning results and suggested the location for an area of archaeological activity which may have included quarrying and other industrial processes. A second area was interpreted as the site of ironworking activity and furthermore a band of strong responses, set back from the stream by about 10m, suggested primary industrial activity.
