Description

{1} An additional geophysical survey was carried out by Northamptonshire Archaeology in March 2000 at Whitehall Farm, Nether Heyford. The work (undertaken on behalf of S.Young) was carried out to establish the extents of the settlement previously identified from fieldwalking, geophysical survey and subsequent excavation. The survey was carried out in three separate fields and produced extremely good results showing an extensive Roman settlement. {2} In 1999, 2000, 2002 and again in 2007 a series of Geophysical magnetometer surveys were undertaken by Northamptonshire Archaeology and Cranfield University to try and establish the extent of the settlement which is now known to cover in excess of 5 hectares of land.
