Description

Site code: XNN:COK11. Archaeological monitoring work on the proposed route of an Anglian Water pipeline between Collyweston in Northamptonshire and Ketton in Leicestershire (centred at grid ref. SK 9954 0354). The monitoring and recording was carried out during the initial topsoil and subsoil strip, and the subsequent trench digging for laying of the 180mm water pipe. The investigation discovered a small Mesolithic/|Early Neolithic flint scatter located on the eastern side of the River Welland. A silted-up modern boundary ditch was also identified along with a single medieval plough furrow. Information from OASIS Online Form.
