Description

The survey results suggest that there is little of archaeological significance other than medieval ridge and furrow cultivation patterns within the footprint of proposed Turbines 1, 2 and 4. Possible archaeological features were found within Areas 3 and 5. The probable ditch in Area 3 may comprise part of the prehistoric settlement and field system recorded to the east. Two sides of a possible rectangular ditched enclosure were located in Area 5, parallel with a cropmark trackway, to the west. A north to south ditch was identified adjacent to the east of the possible enclosure, on a slightly more westerly orientation which may indicate that the two were not contemporary.
