Description

{1} University of Leicester Archaeological Services were commissioned by William Dixon Construction Ltd. to undertake an archaeological evaluation at Baccleuch Academy, Kettering, Northamptonshire in advance of the construction of new school buildings. The proposed development area had been identified as being an area of archaeological potential. A total of ten evaluation trenches were machine excavated and recorded. None revealed any evidence of archaeological significance. The northern and western trenches contained only back-filled quarry waste, whilst the southern and eastern trenches exposed only undisturbed clay substrate.
