Description

{2} The open area excavation further indicated a rectangular system of enclosures extending over c. 1.8ha. Artefacts indicate that it originated in the late 1st century AD and was occupied into the late 4th century AD. There is limited evidence for pre-Roman and post-Roman activity. Apart from ephemeral slots, which may be evidence for rectangular buildings, there was also evidence for a possible roundhouse. Such buildings are known to remain in use during the Roman period in this region.
