Description

A long trench was marked out at the northern end of the playing field by volunteers but only small test pits at either end were excavated. A large amount of building rubble and garden soils were observed and a garden path made of blue paviours, dating any time from the mid 19th century onwards. The trench did not extend much deeper than this since it was being backfilled shortly afterwards.
