Description
{1} Eight trenches were excavated; the ninth could not be excavated due to adverse environmental and weather conditions. Two linear ditches and one pit were found, each containing pottery dating to the late Iron Age. Additonally, three undated linear ditches and a possible alluvium layer were found. Earthworks of the medieval ridge and furrow cultivation system survive in part of the area and remnant furrows were seen in all the trenches.
