Description
{1} An archaeological watching brief was undertaken on 30th April 2013 during the groundworks connected to the construction of a new detached dwelling with integral garage and associated works on land at 12 Paradise Avenue, Kettering, Northamptonshire (NGR 487664 277004). The groundworks comprised four foundation trenches forming a rectangle 13m east to west and 10m north to south, with two internal trenches, dug to a depth of approximately 1.1m below the present ground level. No archaeological evidence was encountered during the site observations. The small pit noted is probably the remains of a small, modern tree-planting hole. This would tie in with the site having formerly been part of an orchard.
