Description

{1} In May 2013, an archaeological excavation was carried out by Northamptonshire Archaeology, on behalf of CgMs Consulting, on land at the former Brackmills Point Cattlemarket site, Liliput Road, Northampton. The works identified two pits, one which contained a number of worked flints, including flint debitage, broadly dating to the early Neolithic while charred hazelnut shell has been radiocarbon dated to the end of the early Neolithic. The site was traversed by remnant furrows of medieval ridge and furrow cultivation.
