Description
{1} A archaeological watching brief was undertaken by Northamptonshire Archaeology from 2008 until 2010 during groundworks and the earthmoving phase of the reconstitution of Bury Mount, a Norman earthwork motte within the former Roman town of Towcester (Lactodorum). At the western edge of the motte a single trench was dug to a depth of c.1.5m in order to remove and rebuild a brick retaining wall to the rear garden of Bury Cottages.
