Description

{1} Archaeological evaluation in support of an application for a garden room. The test pit initially consisted of a 3mx2m trench, although this was subsequently reduced to 1.5x1.5m. A number of modern and post-medieval deposits overlay the moat beneath. Three moat deposits were identified towards the base of the trench, which contained a large amount of limestone fragments, suggesting they were part of the backfilling phase.
