Description

Excavation of the footprints of a new house and related garage found the stone foundations of a medieval building and evidence for difficult ground conditions holding back development nearby. A process of alluvial silting brought up levels by the 16th-17th centuries, facilitating eventual cultivation. At the same time the old building had been demolished and maps show the plot then lay empty through the 17th to 20th centuries. Information from OASIS Online Form.
