Description

{1} Excavation of 10.1ha of land comprising a western area (4.3ha) and an eastern area (5.8ha) in advance of residential development of land to the east of Wellingborough. This area (Area 3) is one of five areas identified for flood relief works. The excavation centred on Iron Age and Roman remains known previously through cropmarks evidence and archaeological evaluation. However, a Neolithic causewayed enclosure was also found.
