Description

{1} Following evaluation, excavations in December 2015 uncovered the core of a Little Harrowden Manor House, one of two former medieval manors in the village. The hall, chamber block, garderobe and a link-building were excavated ahead of development. The work dated the remains to the 12th-to 13th-centuries and insights into the environment and eating of the last staff of the lords of the manor c1300. The chamber block was briefly re-used as a stable or livestock shed in the 16th- to 17th- centuries
