Description

{1} Archaeological observation undertaken during various stages of groundwork associated with the renovation and extension of the property, including excavation of service trenches and ground reduction for a new driveway. No archaeological deposits or features were revealed; it is possible that terracing for the property's constrcution in the 17th century removed any earlier features near the frontage. In other areas ground reduction only removed the topsoil, so archaeological leves were not observed. A small number of medieval-post-medieval pottery sherds were recovered from the subsoil.
