Description
{1} Archaeological observation was undertaken during the demolition of an existing garage on the site and the construction of four new dwellings with associated garages. A total of five site visits were made in order to monitor the excavation of footings trenches for four new dwellings with associated garages. The only archaeological remains found during the excavation were a ‘dumped’ deposit of sediment with 3 post-medieval/modern glass bottles. The lack of archaeological features/artefacts suggests that such remains may be diffusely distributed within the immediate area of the development site, and given the abundance of settlement evidence to the northwest, it was situated outside the area of core settlement.
