Description

{1} Archaeological monitoring and recording was carried out during the construction of a new conservatory on the south side of the West Wing of Drayton Manor, after the demolition of a 20th century conservatory. No significant archaeological features associated with either the manor house or the medieval settlement were revealed and no finds were recovered from the site. The work was able to establish that the steep slope to the rear of the manor house is geological and not the result of landscaping.
