{1} Part of the major phases of excavation undertaken by Oxford Archaeology at Kings Meadow Lane, the 2001 excavation was the largest single area excavation and targeted the extensive Saxon remains. Majority of features on the site were dated to the C8th. A mutilated body found in the backfill of an enclosure ditch was associated with pottery dated to around the C9th
