Description
The outbuilding associated with Prospect House is a historically interesting building, if a little less interesting architecturally. Prospect House is likely to date to the early 19th century. Cartographic sources suggest the rear range has similar origins, however, there is significant evidence to indicate that the rear range has been extensively altered, if not re-built. The history of the building is of greater interest, documentary references indicate the building originated as outbuildings associated with a public house, later becoming a carpenters shop and most recently a small specialist shoe factory. It is these uses which reflect the origins and evolution of such buildings in small to medium regional market towns. The archive will be retained by ABRS under the temporary site code 2019-PHTN until deposition with Northamptonshire County Council can be arranged under the Event Number ENN109388.
