Description

{1} Excavation of a small area to the south of the 18th-century Abbey Cottage in advance of construction of a kitchen block for a new café. The site was an area of grass prior to excavation. Excavation revealed a sequence of medieval, post-medieval and modern structures relating to the pre-Dissolution abbey and the site's subsequent evolution into a country house.
