Description

{1} Archaeological observation of the excavation a trench for the insertion of a static water tank. The trench dimensions were intended to be 6m square and 5m deep. However, significant medieval structural remains were identified and the trench was abandoned. A second location to the north-west was intially trial trenched identifiying the western wall of the medieval range. The second water tank trench was subsequently located to the west of this; no further archaeological remains were identified. A soakaway pit on the north side of the north range (the former church) two burials were disturbed at only 0.4m below current ground level, by excavation for a soakaway.
