Description

{1} The evaluation comprised excavation of two trial trenches: Trench 1, 18.50m long by 1.8m wide, and Trench 2, 13.50m by 1.8m wide, within the available central portion of the site. The trenches focused upon the proposed principal building footprints and driveway, avoiding standing trees, in an L-shape. The works identified no archaeological features pre-dating the post-medieval period. A brick and ironstone wall and two modern ditches of the early 20th-century were investigated and recorded.
