Description
{1} Seven trenches each 40m long and 1.8m wide were excavated. The remains of post-medieval quarrying and backfill were discovered in six of the trenches. The shallow remains of ridge and furrow cultivation and a modern ditch were the only features identified within two of the trenches nearest to Thenford Road. The remains of demolished farm buildings and evidence of the new development were noted in Trench 3. Examination of the remaining topsoil and subsoil revealed infrequent inclusions of modern material. Site code: MCHTFR20. [Report uses event number for geophysical survey (ENN109708).]
