Description

{1} Trial trench excavation comprising four trenches which lay in the footprints of proposed houses and new access road. A medieval, plough dispersed probable roadside midden marked the boundary of settlement and agriculture. No structures were present although the vestiges of the midden produced a notable assemblage of 13th- to 14th-century coarseware pottery from as many as seven vessels.
