Description

{1} Archaeological observation was undertaken during the excavation of a bank seat and profiling of part of the southern bank of the River Nene for a proposed landing stage. Machine excavation located modern brick and concrete at 0.4-0.5m below ground level- interpreted as ad hoc flood retention works. Any underlying horizons of potential archaeological or palaeoenvironmental significance that may be present within the footprint of the monitored area were not exposed, although no such deposits had been encountered during the borehole survey of the previous year. Scheduled Monument Consent Case number S00240349 (pending), Planning Application WP/20/00465/FUL , Site code: 236270
