Description

Results of a desk-based assessment and historic visual impact assessment carried out by South West Archaeology Ltd. (SWARCH) on land near Bugbrooke, Kislingbury, Northamptonshire, in advance of the construction of a 500KW wind turbine. The proposed turbine would be installed on land that once formed part of the Open Fields of Late Saxon and medieval Kislingbury, enclosed in 1780. The modern landscape, despite 20th century developments, bears a striking resemblance to that of the late 18th century. The area appears to be one of high archaeological potential, given the proximity of a series of Iron Age/Romano-British find spots in the local area. Information from OASIS Online Form.
