Description

{1} Magnitude Surveys was commissioned to assess the subsurface archaeological potential of a c. 23.5 ha area of Towcester Water Meadows. A fluxgate magnetometer survey was successfully carried out and anomalies of probable and possible archaeological origin have been identified. The geophysical results also revealed natural features relating to the nearby River Tove, as well as associated water management systems and drainage. A historic trackway was detected as well as a likely modern sewer. Magnetic disturbance was limited to the edges of the survey area and modern services.
