Description

An excavation was carried out of a single test pit within a development site, at a location where a medieval boundary ditch was thought to have existed. Documentary research had indicated that the area of the site investigated had run along the rear boundary of medieval tenements. During the excavation recent features, including wall foundations and drains, were revealed; no evidence of a medieval ditch was observed.
