Description
The installation of an environmental control system necessitated a watching brief on three service trenches to the southwest, northwest and northeast of the house, internally, areas where floorboards had been raised were investigated. The external trenches revealed evidence for the former entrance drive and the drains outside the kitchen whilst the internal investigations revealed a possible earlier fireplace beneath the Tapestry Room and other redundant features behind panelling in the Dining Room. Commissioned by Rodney Meville & Partners on behalf of the National Trust.
