Description
A programme of historic building recording (HBR) is required to record the physical fabric and setting of The Bungalow prior to its demolition. A Level 3 historic building recording will provide a full descriptive account of the building and its context as part of a dispersed set of buildings constructed as part of RAF Chipping Warden. The building is a non-designated asset, it has heritage significance as an example of a purpose-built YMCA, this is a rare survival of this building type on a 1940s RAF airfield. Walkover and observation within Calves Close Spinney has confirmed the survival of other contemporary buildings and features which contributes to the heritage values and significance of the Bungalow. The Bungalow retains a number of original features, predominantly in that part of the building now used as a workshop. [Information from OASIS online form]
