Description

In October 2022 KDK Archaeology Ltd undertook an Archaeological Evaluation at The Hill Field, Queens Street, Culworth, Northamptonshire, in order to fulfil Conditions 10 and 11 of the planning permission for the development of the site. Three trenches were excavated and revealed several ditches related to field drainage, all likely dating to the post-medieval period, including one containing a rudimentary stone culvert. A longer ditch running roughly parallel to Queens Street contained a sherd of post-medieval pottery as well as a small assemblage of animal bone. This feature may be an earlier village boundary but this could not be confirmed. Inf from OASIS online form
