Description

A geophysical (magnetometer) survey was undertaken on approximately 2 hectares of land located to the east of Wellingborough Road, Earls Barton, Northamptonshire. No anomalies of definite archaeological origin were detected. Medieval or post-medieval ridge and furrow cultivation was identified. The northernmost third of the survey area suffers magnetic disturbance due to the location of a service pipeline. Magnetic disturbance around the periphery of the survey areas is due to paddock fencing. Based on the geophysical survey, the archaeological potential of the Site is deemed to be low.
