Description
An archaeological investigation was undertaken in March 2023 at Little Houghton House, 53 Bedford Road, Little Houghton, Northamptonshire, during groundwork for the construction of a new outdoor swimming pool. Monitoring revealed structural remains of a late 19th-century glasshouse, possibly an orangery, built on brick piers with a large cistern, along with pottery and household waste dating after 1859. No medieval deposits were identified, and earlier archaeology had been removed by prior quarrying.
