Description

Two areas were investigated: Mallows Cotton DMV and palaeochannels at West Cotton. The data from the West Cotton part was mostly lost. [Data from NRHE: AML Survey Database Reference No.: 738. Survey type: Magnetometer: recorded grid. Mallows Cotton DMV was surveyed as part of an educational project for local students. The magnetometer survey confirmed the continuation of Iron Age and Roman features detected by earlier surveys as part of the Raunds Area Project. A series of rectangular enclosures were identified, and magnetic responses were obtained from the surviving earthworks. In addition, the known palaeochannels and a mill leat at West Cotton were successfully traced by resistivity, conductivity, and VLF.]
