Description
KDK Archaeology Ltd undertook an archaeological evaluation on 21 May 2024 at land between the Louisa Lilley Almshouses and St Peter's Way, Irthlingborough (NGR SP 94708 70622). The work was commissioned by Resham Ltd in advance of the erection of a block containing six apartments and associated landscaping and parking. A single evaluation trench measuring 12m by 1.8m was excavated within the development footprint. The trench revealed a sequence of modern made ground, demolition deposits and concrete slabs overlying natural geology. No archaeological features, deposits or finds were encountered.
