Description
Archaeological evaluation of a 300 m2 parcel of land located at Notre Dame Mews, Northampton. The evaluation comprised the excavation, investigation and recording of one trial trench measuring 8.85 x 2 m. No archaeological remains were found during the evaluation, supporting the supposition that the area lay within an area of open or cultivated land until the modern period (Royal Commission on Historical Monuments of England 1985). No evidence of the medieval settlement remains found in 1981 was uncovered (HER 1160/154/1). No finds nor environmental samples were collected from the evaluation.
