ENN111425 - HS2: Fox Covert, 2017 (Geophysical survey)

The Survey was undertaken across a single field, covering an area of approximately 1.3 hectares. Several orthogonal ditch fills define what appears to be a field system of possible prehistoric date and these are overlaid by ridge and furrow cultivation typically assumed to be of medieval date. There is no sign of associated settlement, however, a section of strongly enhanced fill within [3] may hint at the presence of non-natural material which could include soil heated within the environs of a settlement should one exist nearby.
