Description

[1} Investigations began beneath the chancel, then the North Chapel and subsequently the South Chapel. A vault was located from the dis-used heating room. Beneath the monument to Lady Elizabeth Carey was a coffin. Her son Sir Charles Danvers was hoped to accompany her. He acted in the same company as Shakespeare and it was hoped that some artefacts associated with him might be found. His coffin was not found and no artefacts were located.
