Description

{1} In 1964 a length of the bailey bank was levelled to make for six residential blocks. Four of the blocks lay largely across the castle ditch, but late Saxon pits and a modern well were found in two and partially excavated in the sides of the foundation trenches for the blocks. [This work was not written up at the time and has been subsequently published as summary in Northamptonshire Archaeology]
