Description

{1} Observation during construction of a bungalow on an unrecorded mound on the west side of Chancery Lane. Mound covered structures of at least two periods, which pre-date a pit cut into the top of the mound which dates to the 13th century. {2} The castle mound was excavated with Dennis Jackson in Chancery Lane in 1973, St Neots 18 (2 rims, one large); pink & dark late St Neots 6 (1 base); 1 stamford grey jug with handle
