Description

{1} Two trial trenches were excavated ahead of proposed redevelopment of the site. Deep deposits of post-medieval material were identified on site (up to c2.75m below existing). No medieval layers or archaeological features were identified during the investigation. The deposits in one trench were suggestive of either levelling or infill, possibly of a quarry pit. The other trench contained similar deposits, although the possible the bottom layer was like a 'garden soil'.
