Description

{1} In 1982 the National Trust commenced restoration of the priory church. The installation of drains in deep trenches around the church required prior archaeological investigation. A series of hand-dug trenches were opened along the north, south and east sides of the church at distances of 0.5 to 1.0m from the walls. Only along the north and south sides were the trenches deep enough to expose natural strata.
