Description

The 1969 Summer Term Industrial Archaeology course, from the Leicester University's Centre in Northampton, excavated on the course of the railway, at approximately SP 736513 across the road from Buttermilk Hall Farm. An area, about 18 ft square was investigated and at about 9 - 12 in below the surface, four almost complete rows of stone sleeper blocks (two rows for each track) were found. A small section of track was reconstructed.
