Description

{1} Road construction works to realign the A508 at the River Tove bends between the Alderton turn to the south and the Grand Union Canal to the north commenced in September 1990. {4} Several features, mainly water courses, were recorded in a roadside drainage ditch during re-alignment road construction works across low-lying land beside the River Tove in December 1990. Of particular interest was a straight channel and adjacent building remains with associated 14th century pottery. The features probably represent part of a mill or other riverside focus.
