Description
{1} Trial excavation on the site of Whitefriars located parts of the friary building but the deep Victorian cellarage encountered suggests that most of the archaeological levels have already been destroyed. The main sequence comprised a possible 12th century quarry overlaid by two phases of possible friary buildings and subsequently by post-medieval cottages. {3} Main sequence 12th century fill of quarry overlaid by two phases of ?friary buildings and later by post-medieval cottages
