Description

{1} A post medieval stone-lined well was found behind No.47 Sheep Street during construction work; {2} Possible well or icehouse in Broad Street/Sheep Street behind a club. Found Feb 1973. The club is in an 18th-century house and has a large garden. The curious ?well or curved wall is at the back adjoining the rear wall. Finds from the 'well'/icehouse included pottery and clay pipes.
