Description

{1} The foundation for a new stone wall on the north boundary of St John's Hospital was excavated by hand. The trench was 4.10m long and a maximum of 0.85m deep. It was cut though disturbed ground. At its western end the trench abutted the eastern wall of the chapel. The base of the wall was not exposed nor was any foundation cut visible. A couple of sherds of 18th-century pottery were found, the rest dated to the 19th and 20th centuries.
